Terms of Service
Last updated: October 8, 2026
1. Who we are
Skintilo is studio management software for paramedical tattoo studios. It is provided by Yurii Gusar, doing business as Skintilo, Brooklyn, New York ("Skintilo", "we", "us").
These terms are an agreement between Skintilo and the business that signs up ("the studio", "you"). The person who creates the account confirms they can agree on the studio's behalf. By creating an account or using Skintilo, the studio agrees to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
2. The service and your account
Skintilo provides client records, consults, booking, quotes, deposits, reminders, forms and, if the studio chooses, a hosted website. Features may change over time. We will not remove a core feature the studio relies on without telling the studio first.
- Owner. Each studio has one owner login. Only the owner can manage billing, cancel, or delete the studio.
- Team logins. The owner can invite team members. Each accepted team member is a paid seat (see section 3).
- Keep logins private. Each login is for one person. The studio is responsible for what happens under its logins and should tell us right away at team@skintilo.com if it thinks one has been misused.
3. Free trial, price and billing
- Free trial. New studios get 14 days free. No card is needed to start. To keep using Skintilo after the trial, the owner adds a card.
- Price. $129 per month, which includes the owner's login. Each additional team login is $39 per month.
- One monthly charge. The base price and all seats are billed together as one charge, monthly in advance, to the card on file.
- Seat changes. Adding or removing a team login changes the bill from that day. Stripe prorates the difference on the next invoice.
- Sales tax. Prices do not include sales tax. Where tax applies (for example, studios in New York), it is added to the invoice.
- Payments. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store full card numbers.
- Price changes. We will email the owner at least 30 days before any price change. The new price applies from the next billing date after that notice.
4. Canceling and refunds
The owner can cancel at any time from Settings, Billing, "Manage card and invoices". There is no contract length and no cancellation fee.
After canceling, the studio keeps full access until the end of the period it has already paid for. We do not give partial refunds for unused days or for seats removed partway through a month. Nothing more is charged after cancellation.
5. Trial ending, missed payments and deletion
We email the owner 3 days before the trial ends. The steps below start on "day 0": the day a trial ends with no card, the day Stripe's retries for a failed payment run out, or the day a canceled subscription reaches the end of its paid period.
- Day 0, account paused. The owner can still sign in, see everything and export all of the studio's data, but cannot book, edit or send. Booking pages and the website stay up. We email the owner the offline and deletion dates.
- Day 7, public pages go offline. Booking pages, forms and the hosted website stop accepting visitors. Automated emails to the studio's clients stop. The owner can still view and export.
- Day 90, final warning. We email the owner that the data will be deleted in 7 days and that this cannot be undone.
- Day 97, data deleted. We permanently delete all of the studio's records and files.
If the studio subscribes again before day 97, everything comes back as it was. Reminders resume for upcoming appointments only. Scheduled emails that fell due while paused are skipped, not sent all at once.
6. Your data and your clients' data
The studio owns its data: its client records, photos, forms, consults, notes, prices and website content. We use it only to run Skintilo for that studio.
- We never sell it, and never use it for advertising.
- We never share one studio's data with another studio, and never use one studio's clients, prices or results to benefit another.
- We never contact the studio's clients for our own purposes. Emails and texts to clients go out only on the studio's behalf.
- We look at studio data only when the studio asks for support, to fix a problem, to keep the service secure, or when the law requires it. When we build a studio's website on request, we join its account to do it, and that shows in the studio's activity log.
- Export. One button in Settings downloads all of the studio's data: clients, appointments, sessions, payments, quotes, notes and consents as spreadsheets, plus every photo and consent form. It works at any time, including while the account is paused, until the data is deleted.
The studio gives us permission to store, process and display its data as needed to provide Skintilo.
7. What the studio is responsible for
- Client permission. The studio has its clients' permission to store their details, photos and form answers, and to send them reminders and messages.
- Its own messages. Texts are sent from the practitioner's own phone. Emails go out in the studio's name. The studio is the sender and follows the rules for messaging its clients.
- Its own practice. The studio is responsible for its treatments, licenses, consent forms, policies and what it tells clients. Skintilo is a business tool. It does not give treatment or medical advice and does not review the studio's work.
- Health information. Skintilo is not built as medical records software and is not offered as HIPAA compliant. The studio decides what client health details it collects in its forms.
- Fair use. No unlawful use, spam, attempts to break or overload the service, access to other studios' accounts, copying or reselling Skintilo, or taking it apart to build a competing product.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules or puts other studios at risk. Where we can, we tell the owner first.
8. Hosted websites and AI-written text
- AI drafts. Skintilo can write website text using an AI model. It is a draft. Nothing is published until the owner approves it, and the studio is responsible for everything it publishes, including claims about results and consent for every photo.
- Address and domain. The site is live at the studio's skintilo.com address. A studio can connect a domain it owns. The studio keeps ownership of its domain.
- Designs. The text and photos are the studio's. The site designs and code are Skintilo's, and the studio can use them while it subscribes.
- Set-up service. "Build it for me" is a one-time $499 fee for us to set the site up, invoiced separately before we start. It is fully refundable until we start work, and not refundable after that.
- Footer. Hosted sites show "Powered by Skintilo".
If the subscription ends, the website goes offline with the rest of the public pages (section 5).
9. Availability and liability
We work to keep Skintilo running and backed up, but we cannot promise it will never be down or never have a bug. Skintilo is provided "as is", without warranties beyond what these terms state.
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost bookings, lost profits or lost clients.
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to what the studio paid Skintilo in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
The studio is responsible for claims that come from its own treatments, its own content, or its use of Skintilo against these terms.
10. Changes, law and contact
- Changes to these terms. We will email the owner at least 30 days before a change that affects the studio's rights or what it pays. Continuing to use Skintilo after that means the studio accepts the change. If it does not, it can cancel under section 4.
- Law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes go to the courts in New York County or Kings County, New York.
